Whether you’re new here or have lived in the village for a long time, everyone is welcome at Hope Church Ambleside. Especially if you’re just beginning to ask questions about what life is all about, and how God fits into that. We’d love to have you join us to help you look into the claims of Christianity for yourself.
What to expect
When you arrive at Church you will be greeted by one of our Welcome Team who will warmly welcome you into church. They will show you where our Service is, give you a service sheet which lets you know everything that is going to happen in our time together, and point you in the direction of any facilities that you might need.
Don’t worry, there’s no dress code. Walking boots and wellies are a common sight!
Arriving at Church
Our service normally lasts 60-80 minutes. It is centred around hearing from the Bible together, because we need to hear, and keep hearing the life-giving message of Jesus Christ. We also spend time singing, praying and responding to what we’ve heard from the Bible.
Children
Children aged 0-11 have their own children’s groups. We start the service all together and then the children will leave to their groups when directed to do so. The Leader will make it clear where and when children can go to their groups.
During the Meeting
We like to encourage people to stay around after the meeting for tea, coffee and other refreshments. This is a great opportunity to get to know other people in the church family and to talk with each other about what we’ve just heard from God’s Word.
After the Meeting
Parking can be a challenge in Ambleside, so do leave plenty of time to get parked before coming to join us. We do have a small carpark behind our church building on Compston Road that you are very welcome to use if there is space. We try and fit in as many cars as possible so don’t worry about blocking people in on Sundays!
